François Pelletier
A guitar player since early childhood, François Pelletier has always thought of improvising and composing as an integral part of his musical exploration. Interested in popular music as well as classical and jazz, he has studied music at Campus Notre-Dame-De-Foy and Université Laval in Québec City, then at Université de Montréal and UQAM in Montreal.There he honed his skills and developed an artistic identity by collaborating with various jazz, funk, rock, world music, pop and folk projects such as Totem Bonhomme, Metatuk and Film-o-Funk (among others). Influenced by Don Ross and Sylvain Luc, he also developed unique guitar techniques designed for jazz and classical solo playing, which led him to writing solo pieces for acoustic guitar.Today François Pelletier evolves amidst several musical endeavours like Astheur, Bouleau Jaune, Québécadie, La Cour Intérieure et Seven Bags of Bricks, who embrace freedom of creation by borrowing from different genres and styles. He also regularly performs as a solo act either singing folk and celtic songs or playing instrumental solo guitar music.

Guitariste depuis sa plus tendre enfance, François Pelletier a toujours placé l’improvisation et la composition au centre de son exploration musicale. Intéressé tant par les musiques populaires que le jazz et le classique, il étudie la musique au Campus Notre-Dame-De-Foy, à l’Université Laval, à l’Université de Montréal et à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Musicien curieux et créatif, il collabore aux projets aux accents jazz, rock, funk, pop, folk et musique du monde, dont Totem Bonhomme, Metatuk et Film-o-Funk pour n'en nommer que trois. Influencé par Don Ross et Sylvain Luc, il y développe notamment des techniques de jeu pour guitare classique et guitare jazz solo, qui l'amènent vers l’écriture pour guitare acoustique solo. On retrouve aujourd'hui François Pelletier au sein de plusieurs projets musicaux embrassant le métissage stylistique et la liberté de création dont Astheur, Bouleau Jaune, Québécadie, La Cour Intérieure et Seven Bags of Bricks. Il performe également régulièrement en solo comme chansonnier folk-trad-celtique, et comme guitariste solo instrumental.
